  • Contract Rummy: In this type of rummy, players are assigned tasks and earn points by completing them successfully.
  • Classic Rummy: This game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The game is played by drawing cards from the stock and laying them down in sets and runs, using the standard Rummy rules.
  • Rummy 500: The object of this game is to score points as in regular rummy by laying down or laying off cards, initially in groups of matching cards known as melds, of either: 3 or 4 cards of the same set, sequences or run.
  • Gin Rummy: This variant is played with two decks of cards shuffled together with no Jokers. Players lay their sets down one at a time, as they can be laid down in a rummy, but they must be placed on top of other sets or else they are discarded.
  • Oklahoma Rummy: This variant is played by drawing cards from the stock and laying them down in sets and runs in your hand or on the table (not on other players’ hands). You can also pick up any card that you want to add to your hand or discard it.
  • Indian Rummy: Indian Cherokee Rummy, also called as Paplu, is a mix between Gin Rummy and Rummy 500. Creating valid sets out of 13 cards that are given to each player at the table is the aim of the popular Indian rummy variation. Each player is originally handed 13 cards; if there are only 2 players, a 52-card deck is used; if there are 6 players, two decks of 52 cards each are combined. Up until one player melds their cards with valid sets, each player must draw and discard cards in turn.
  • Canasta: One of the variations of rummy that is part of the 500 Rum family is canasta. It is played in a variety of ways with two, three, five, or six players, although four people in two partnerships and two normal decks of cards are the most frequent participants. By playing all of the cards in their hands, players try to “go out” by creating melds of seven cards with the same rank.
