Snakes and ladders was inspired from a series of dice board games played in India, as well as with gyan chauper and pachisi. Chutes and Ladders was the name given to the central concept when it was introduced to England under the name 'Snakes and Ladders'. The ancient Indian game, known as Moksha Patam, was immensely popular. It was also linked to the classical Hindu philosophy that compared karma with kama, or destiny and desire.

• To win, get the highest score before the opponent.
• To score, tap on the dice and select the pawn to move.
• You get +1 for every tile you move.
• A player gets an extra turn when they kill the opponent's pawns, and their pawns reach home.
• If you land on a ladder, your pawn moves to a higher number, and your score increases.
• If you land on a snake’s head, the pawn goes to the tail, and your score decreases.
• If you land on the same tile as your opponent, their pawn gets killed and restarts the game, its score gets added to your score, and you get an extra turn.

• Pawn: Objects assigned to players to move across the board based on the number that appears on the dice.
• Dice: Rolls a random number which indicates the number of tiles the player can move his/her pawn.
• Ladder: These start and end on particular tiles. Ladders boost your pawn's position to a higher tile. Landing on the bottom part of the ladder will boost you to the top of the ladder.
• Snake: These start (head) and end (tail) on particular tiles. Snakes bite the pawns because of which their score decreases and they land up at the tail.
• Home: The last/home tile on the board for all the pawns

• Move both pawns to get more points in the game.
• Avoid snakes and try to land on ladders to get more points.
• Aim to kill the opponent’s pawns and get their score.
• Do not miss your turn and give opponents a lead.
• Do not quit if a snake bites your pawn.
